Carol J. Brandon

of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Saturday,  April 14, 2018.      She was born in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, on December 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie [Sherman] Brandon.

Carol graduated Niagara Falls High School in 1954.    She served as Deputy Town Clerk of Lewiston from 1973-1983 and then became the Town Clerk of Lewiston in 1998, a position she held until her retirement in 2013.    Carol was the Special Projects Coordinator for Assemblyman Joseph Pillittere from 1986 – 1998. 

She was the first women president of the Lewiston All Sports Boosters Club, also a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. She was a former member of the Niagara County Clerks Association where she was a past president and the NYS Town Clerks Association. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Francis Guild and volunteered at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston Pre-K Day Care.

Carol was the wife of Robert A. Linn and the late Walter Pokrzyk, beloved mother of Karen Ballistrea, Kathy (Dennis) Winkler, Robert Pokrzyk, and Steven ( Stacie) Pokrzyk and the late Suzanne Pokrzyk, step mother of Robin (Kenneth) Dressel, Jennifer (Douglas) Godown and Janis Linn, dear grandmother of Richard, Amanda, Michael, Deanne, Katelyn, Alexandra, Gabriella, Amanda, Andrew, Brittany, Kaytelyn, McKenna, Micah, John, Marc and Joel, also five great grandchildren and dear sister of Gloria Donovan and Gary Brandon. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and  her beloved dog Daisy.

Her family will be present on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.    Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's   Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined,  Memorials may be made in her name to the  Cancer Society Relay for Life of Dolgeville, c/o Kathy Winkler, 412 Military Rd., Dolgeville, NY 13329.

Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
