Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Rosa Coplon, Amherst, NY. 

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 19, 1934, the daughter of the late Peter and Loretta [Squires] Serianne.

Mrs. Burden attended local schools and was a laboratory technician at Occidental Chemical for over 30 years, before retiring in 1999.

She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church, St. Raphael Parish and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 54.

Mrs. Burden enjoyed exercising with the Silver Sneakers at YMCA in Niagara Falls, church bazaars,  bird watching, music and dancing.  She was known for her spaghetti sauce, brownies and always generous with bear hugs and friendly banter. 

She was the wife of the late Walter G. Burden, who died in September of 1993.  Mrs. Burden is  survived by two daughters Jody A. (Theodore J.) Slipko and Jeanne L. (Jon M.) Venturin three grandchildren T.J. Slipko, Timothy and Courtney Venturin, one sister Rose (late Eugene) Moodie, also many nieces, nephews and dear friends.   She was the mother of the late Jeri Lou Burden, sister of the late Frank and Basil Serianne, sister in law of the late Mary Lou (Donald) Reynolds, Timothy (Diana) Burden, Judith Burden and Jo-Ann (Robert) Faulkner.

Her family will be present on Wednesday from 3-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Ave., Niagara Falls, NY.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating.
