Of Bandon, OR,   formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away August 25, 2017. She was born in Toronto, ON on January 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Albert and Amy [Patridge] Dwinnells.

Mrs. Rice moved to Niagara Falls as a child and attended local schools. She was a cook at Marine Midland Bank for over 15 years. She was employed at the Tatler Club for 15 years.. Mrs. Rice was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Dorothy was the wife of the late John J. Rice, who passed away on January 6, 2005. She is sruvived by her sons Edward Shammot, Nicholas Shammot, James Shammot and Robert Shammot, daughters Sandra Forucci and Kathleen (Greg) Locey, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Interment was held at the convenience of her family in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
