Since 2000 Jan was our next door Ogunquit neighbor for one week every summer. She loved to tell stories about the Hickory Hill community, her friends and students, and her family's historical legacy in Lewiston NY. We grilled the hot dogs and she brought the ice cream! An annual event was to eat smelts at Captain Hook in Wells. She entertained our puppy Koby when we went to the beach and frequently asked our son for help with setting up new gadgets.
We only just learned Jan had passed. I still hear her cheerful greetings when we arrived each year and fondly remember our many conversations.
She was such a presence at 33 Hickory Hill and hope the next occupants experience the joy she had there.
Much love to you Jan.

My sincere condolences to Jan Dunlap's family and friends as I just recently discovered that she had passed away.
I knew Jan from my student days at Trott Vocational and for the following 18-years until we parted ways due to reasons that should have never involved her and is all ancient history and a moot point.
Spending time in Oqunquit, Maine with her friend and colleague Jane and exchanging postcards on our European adventures was a shared experience that I shall always remember!

I went to Trott and had Ms Dunlap for a teacher. When I think back about the good times I had a Trott she always comes to mind. Rest In Peace

Such a dear, dear friend for so very many years- we are sad and distraught at this news. If God watches over those she left behind even half as well as she did, we will all be okay.

So happy I was able to see Ms. Dunlap again at our reunion. She was a wonderful woman who brightened the hallways of TVHS. May she continue to shine her light in the Heavens above!
