Joseph H. DePlanche' of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away January 29, 2017. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 26, 1933, the son of the late Roy A. and Edna Marie (Woolcutt) DePlanche'.

Joe graduated from Bishop Duffy High School in 1952. In November of 1952, he joined the US Air Force serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal. Joe was employed at Hooker Chemical (Occidental Chemical) as a pipe fitter and chemical operator until his retirement.

Joe enjoyed camping and fishing throughout Western NY and the Southern Tier, being joined by family and friends on many occasions. One of his favorite spots was the Genesee River.

Joe is survived by his wife Marian A. (Wilson) DePlanche' of 63 years; his son Timothy (JD) DePlanche' of Colorado; four daughters, MariJo (James) Carr, Janet (Rick) Kephart, Michele (Jay Martini) DePlanche' of Arizona and Rene' (Dave Hockenberry) DePlanche'.

Joe was known as "Bapa" to seven grandchildren; Richard Williamson Jr., Bruce (Danielle) Carr of North Carolina, James (Amy) Carr, Melanie (David) Byrd, Kelly (Aaron) Jocoy, Ricky (Julie) Kephart and Erin Underwood of Arizona; 10 great- grandchildren; brothers Paul (Rachel) DePlanche' of Maine, R. Timothy (Dorothy) DePlanche' and sister Mary Hopkins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family.
