Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He was born in Hazen, PA, on September 2, 1931, the son of the late Ralph and Viona [Bushley] Brooks.
Mr. Brooks served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He moved to the Town of Wheatfield in 1952 and to Sanborn in 1953. Mr. Brooks was employed with Bell Aircraft and later American Optical which became Leica, before retiring in 1993.
He was a Boy Scout Master and a member of several organizations including the Sanborn Senior Citizens. Mr. Brooks enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, woodworking and gardening. He will be remembered as being a master of all trades.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 64 years Natalie J. [Murphy] Brooks, three sons Dennis (Sallyn), Michael (Joanne) and Steven Brooks, one daughter Tina (Robert) Crewe, a sister Elaine (David) Zolner, thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren , many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
His family will be present on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Craig Rhodenizer officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Interment with Military Honors in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
