Lloyd E. Hoover

Of Sanborn, NY, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, NY. He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on July 15, 1924, the son of the late Edwin and Lucille [Dodge] Hoover.

Mr. Hoover graduated from Trott Vocational High School and served in the US Army during World War II in the European Theater. After returning from the war, he and his brother continued to operate the family farm and Hoover's Dairy, which was started by their father in 1923.

He was a member of the Sanborn American Legion, the Sanborn Historical Society and enjoyed bowling in the Senior League, traveling and mowing his lawn.

Mr. Hoover was the husband of 63 years to the late Elfriede S. (Schlageter) Hoover, who passed away in May of 2015. He is survived by two sons Gerald L. (Janice) Hoover and David L. (Wendy) Hoover, five grandsons Eric (Jennifer), David J., Jeremy B., Andrew S. and Joshua J. Hoover, three great granddaughters Riley, Alexa and Amelia Hoover, one sister Janet (Richard) Latham, also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hoover was the brother of the late Eugene (Patricia) and Ruth (Dr. Lee) Carrell.

The family will be present on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Road, Lockport, NY 14094.

Interment with military honors in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
