Mrs. Ernst was my Dad's secretary at the Annex building of Alton Senior High School. They were very fond of each other. I remember how kind she was to me as a young whippersnapper visiting my Daddy's office.
In later years after she retired. She would always remember me and have kind words. Dad passed in 2012 at age 97. I suppose they are having coffee now discussing old times.
May God bless and keep you. She was a truly remarkable Lady .

Rachel was a special lady. I golfed with her in the early 1980's on leagues at Muny and Cloverleaf. Being from southern Missouri myself, and Rachel from Kentucky, we communicated very well. One of her favorite saying, when the ball was over a hill, she would say "it's just over the rise." We all loved her and missed her dearly when she moved away.
