July 2, 1927 ~ October 12, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Carran Martin Obituary

Carran M. "Marty" Martin, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at Elderwood at Lockport.     He was born in Orange County, VA, on July 2, 1927, the son of the late Robert J. and Emma K. [Moritz] Martin.

Mr. Martin moved to Buffalo with his parents in the early 1940's.   He served with the US Army during
World War II.   He worked on the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and later as a tool and die maker at the
Tonawanda Engine Plant for many years before retiring.
 
Mr. Martin was an avid sportsman and enjoyed camping and bowling. He was a Bills fan and had
attended a Superbowl.
 
Mr. Martin was the husband of the late Evelyn L. [Woomer] Martin, who passed away in August of
1990.
 
He is survived by his children Karen L. (Tony) Mooradian, Shelly L. (Michael Jaskowiak) Martin,
Danyel M. (Eric) Freberg, Michael J. (Stacy) and Gary A. (Denise) Martin, a son in law Kenneth
Buerster and was the brother of Jessie, Donald, Paul, Jerry, Howie, Kevin, Dennis and Claudia.
He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren  and many nieces and nephews.
 
Mr. Martin was the father of the late Wendy M. Buerster and brother of the late John, Charles,
Katherine and Emma.
 
His family will be present on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME,
901 Cayuga Street,  LEWISTON, NY, where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at
10:00 AM, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating.
 
Flowers are gratefully declined.     Memorials may be made in his name to the  Niagara County
SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY  14304.
 
Interment with military honors will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
