Steve and the rest of the Brown family, you already know what a great guy Chris was but it warrants repeating many times over. We only knew him through the business, but he always made us feel like we were old friends when we saw him every year in April. He took a genuine interest in what was going on our lives and "the farm", I often thought he really wanted to try his hand at it.
Our thoughts are with you all, We will miss him.

Sue, its Paula Johnson from high school here. I just saw the Facebook post about Chris' passing. I am SO sorry!! I remember both of you from high school, but obviously have lost touch since 1973. I'm glad to see you two were together for a long time and had a great family.
In reading his obituary, it sounds like Chris accomplished quite a bit during his life time. There is a poem called "The Dash" which is the "dash" between your birth and death dates, and it asks people to recount who someone was and what they did with their life, which is what really counts. It seems Chris was very successful during his "dash."
Please know my thoughts are with you.
Paula

So nice to hear from you and your kind words. I love the meaning of the "Dash" and will keep that in mind always! Thank you!

I am deeply shocked to read of Chris' passing. We both joined Peat Marwick together 40 years ago. He was a bright, upbeat, talented colleague always with that engaging smile. He will be very much missed. My profound sympathy to his family.

Prayers to Sue and family and know that Chris is up there watching over you. Without a doubt, he was one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Kind, always caring about family and our community and a leader in EVERYTHING he was involved in. If the dictionary had a photo for GENTLEMAN, Chris's portrait would be there!
Missed but NEVER Forgotten!
