Eugene King

Eugene King of Grand Island, NY, passed away July 24, 2019.    He was born in Ashuelot, NH on June 29, 1919, the son of the late William and Veronica (Peiatrcz) Kotkowski.

Mr. King served in the US ARMY during World War II. He enjoyed model airplane building and flying, was an avid bowler and loved fishing. Mr. King’s family called him Dod (short for Dada), Grandpa and Uncle Gene. He was well-loved for his goofy sense of humor, amazing physical strength and devotion to his wife during her years of declining health. Though he lost his parents when he was very young and had no siblings, he successfully pursued a good education, marriage and working life. He was especially proud of his employment at Curtiss Wright during World War II where he served as Assistant General Foreman on the assembly of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. He came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior in his elder years.

Mr. King was the husband of the late Catherine P. (Horan) King. Father of Patricia (Neil) Snyder, Eugenia White, Dennis (Sharon) King and  Kathleen (Michael) Duff, grandfather of William (Jessica) Duff, Christopher (Kimberly) Duff, MaryKate (Michael) Bonning and Sean Duff, great-grandfather of Andrew, McKenna, Edmund and Brendan Duff and Ivy Bonning. 

Visitation on Sunday from 6-8PM at Bible Fellowship Center, 1136 Baseline Rd, Grand Island, NY 14072 where Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10AM.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
