Jacqueline W. "Jackie" Ganshaw of Pekin, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019. She was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on September 30, 1927, the daughter of the late George H. and Eva [Payne] Johnston.
Jackie was the wife of the late Harold A. Ganshaw who passed away suddenly after an automobile accident in October of 1969, they were married on September 20, 1952.
Jackie was the secretary to the Executive Director of the Tonawandas for over 17 years. She was a very active member of Hope United Methodist Church in Pekin, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and served as a Lay Leader and Treasurer. Jackie was a Mothers March Chairman for the Niagara County March of Dimes. A member and past matron of Ransomville Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and was appointed District Deputy Grand Matron of the Niagara-Orleans District in 1964. She was the past President of the senior group the "Friendship Club".
She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening.
Jackie is survived by two sons Todd J. (Sandi) Ganshaw and Trevor H. (Lee) Ganshaw, six grandchildren Zachary, Stephen, Michelle, Eric, Sara, and Kaitlyn, also many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the Joyce (Bill) McEwen and Marian (Joe) Salda.
Her legacy of love, faith and courage will be remembered always and she will be dearly missed.
Her family will be present on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church, 2914 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to Hope United Methodist Church.
Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
