Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 16, 2017 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 16, 1944 , the son of the late James D. and Margaret "Peggy" [Murphy] MacKenzie.

Mr. MacKenzie was employed at Occidental Chemical Co., where he retired after 34 years. He was an avid sportsmen and enjoyed camping with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

James was the husband of Rosalind J. (Hewitt) MacKenzie. He is survived by his daughters Karen (Paul) Mancuso, Stacy (John) Croff and Marlo (Jay) Whitmer, son Jimmy (Sheri) MacKenzie. grandchildren Brandon (Lindsay), Alexis, TJ, Jacob, Kayleigh, Briauna, Zachary, Savannah, Trevor and Aidan, one great-grandson James, his sister Barbara MacKenzie, brothers George [ Robin ] MacKenzie and  Robert MacKenzie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Norman MacKenzie, Patricia [ Byron ] Schucker and Elizabeth "Betty" Meehan.

The family will be present on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road SANBORN, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 11 AM, at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY

Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
