Of The Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2017, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.
He was a member of the Onondaga Eel Clan, born in Ransomville, NY, on December 12, 1962, the son of the late Dallas Milo and Oralle L. [Johnson] Wilson.
Joel graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School, where he played basketball and lacrosse, and received a degree in Business Administration from Bryant and Stratton. Joel was the diesel attendant with Smokin Joe's for over 20 years.
He enjoyed building model race cars, attending and following dirt track racing, going to garage and yard sales, also bowled and played darts in several leagues. Joel was an avid Sabres and Bills fan.
He was the brother of Valerie [ James ] Swanson, Dallas J. [ Russ-Ellen ] Wilson, Corinne [ Joseph ] Jamieson, Janelle [ Alvin ] John, Kevin [ Suzanna ], Barry [ Sue Ellen ], Annette , Lance Wilson; and Melinda Clause, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
His family will be present on Thursday from 11-1:00 PM, at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with funeral services to follow at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Donald Robinson officiating.
Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, on the Tuscarora Nation.
Arrangement were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, Sanborn, NY.
