Richard R. Gleason, Sr, of Sanborn, NY, August 7, 2018 passed away after a brief illness and 85 years of an Amazing life.
He was born in Wellsburg, NY, on July 26, 1933, the son of the late Rufus and Ila [Bills] Gleason.
His first job was a produce worker at a supermarket in Elmira where he met the love of his life, Ruthie. After moving to Tonawanda, NY in 1955, he had a multitude of other jobs and adventures and finished up his career driving tankers for Ashland and Noco Oil before retiring in 1995.
He was a Big hearted, honest living, truth telling, country loving man, he was a legend and our rock and we will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66+ years Ruth (Kester) Gleason, the best father & role model to Richard (Jamie) Gleason, Randy (Karen) Gleason, Mark (Colleen) Gleason, Laurie (John) Bartolomeo as well as 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Cambria Congregational Church, 4045 Lower Mountain Road, Lockport, NY.
In lieu of flowers. donations may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.
