Robert Allen MacPhee of the Town of Cambria, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side after a long challenging illness. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on March 1, 1937, son of the late Alex and Elizabeth [Zachara] MacPhee.
He was a graduate of Erie Community College and Buffalo State College and served in the Army National Guard.
Bob was an insurance executive for more than 50 years and President of Humphrey and Vandevoort Inc., Buffalo, NY and CEO of Fire Service Agency which covered all of Niagara and Erie Counties Volunteer Fire Companies with comprehensive insurance.
He was the Past President and volunteer for Niagara Wheatfield Athletic Association as a football director and coach for many years and volunteered as a Junior Varsity coach at Niagara Wheatfield. He also served as Past President and volunteer for 37 years at Empower (formally known as Niagara Cerebral Palsy Association), Past Exalted Ruler and member of the North Tonawanda Elks Lodge 360 and was the Past President and member of Niagara Central Rotary Club.
Bob was an avid old car lover who was proud to show his 1961 Thunderbird and 1964 ½ Mustang whenever possible.
Bob’s passion in life was his family and being a part of his grandchildren’s lives and to always live to make a difference in whatever you strive to do, while always helping others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Marguerite [Syracuse] MacPhee, his children Patrice (Brian) Wells, Cory (Michele) MacPhee and Jeffrey (Nancy) MacPhee, his cherished grandchildren Connor and Tyler Wells, Trevor, Shona and Charles MacPhee and Brenna (Justin) Pollock, a great grand daughter Anna Belle Ray Pollock, a brother James (Kathy) MacPhee, a sister in law Kathy MacPhee, also many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Al MacPhee.
Friends and family can honor Bob MacPhee’s life by joining with his family on Sunday, from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY, with the Rev. James R. Bastian officiating.
