Sr. Elena Sinatra, SSHJ Obituary
Of Lewiston, NY, passed away February 7, 2018. She was born in Caltagirone, Italy on March 16, 1934,the daughter of the late Franceso and Maria (Benenati) Sinatra.
Sr. Elena joined the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1953 and was professed in 1955. She was a Nursery school teacher in Italy for 10 years before coming to Lewiston in 1965. Sr. attended Niagara University and became a Kindergarten teacher at Sacred Heart Villa School.
Sister was loved and appreciated by parents and students. She was very generous with her time and taught CCD at Holy Family Parish on the reservation. Sister was a Eucharistic Minister at the former Deveaux Manor.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews in Italy.
Sister will be waked on Friday from 2-8 PM at Sacred Heart Villa, 5269 Lewiston Road, Lewiston, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. Peter's RC Church, 620 Center Street Lewiston, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Sacred Heart Villa School.
Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
