Formerly Sister Mary Augusta, of Stella Niagara, NY, passed February 11, 2017. Born in Buffalo, NY on April 14, 1931, the daughter of the late Anthony F. and Louise Jean [Corey] Anthony.

Sister entered the Sisters of St. Francis September 4, 1949 and was Professed August 18, 1952.

She received her BS in Education from Rosary Hill (Daemen) College.

Sister served as a  teacher and principal at St. Ann School, principal and superior at St. Benedict School/Convent, parish minister/outreach at St. Ann Parish, all in Buffalo, New York; teacher/superior/principal at St. Peter School/convent, Lewiston, New York; teacher at St. Agnes School in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey; and principal at Sacred Heart School, in Columbus, Ohio.

After retiring in 2006, Sister Rosemary resided in the Buffalo, New York area, and continued her outreach telephone/prayer ministry, especially with friends from St. Ann Parish community. 

Survived by her sisters Dolores M. Anthony, Sister Donna Marie Anthony, OSF and Gloria J. Paz, brothers Ronald J. Anthony and John J. (Katherine) Anthony; 10 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anne A. Anthony.

Sister will be waked Friday from 3-7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7PM at Stella Niagara. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Sister’s Chapel.
