Of Tuscarora Nation, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was a member of the Seneca Nation, Snipe Clan and was born in Lewiston, NY, on May 23, 1970 the son of the late Marcel L. and Frances E. [Jack] Jacobs.
Vernon graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1988 and attended Pfeiffer University and Canisius College. He excelled in many sports including golf, bowling and lacrosse the "Creator's game". He coached several youth lacrosse teams to championship wins. Vernon was a member of the Niagara Frontier Golf Club, an avid bowler, sportsman and enjoyed traveling.
He was an electrician with IBEW #237, in Niagara Falls, NY.
Vernon is survived by his wife of fifteen years Lori [Attfield] Jacobs, sister Julie (Barnett) Equils, also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his pets Thor and Kitty. He was the brother of the late Mitchell "Bow" Jacobs.
His family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with Rev. Donald A. Robinson, Jr. officiating.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 1964 Mt. Hope Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
