Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at his home under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 19, 1932, a son of the late Stanley and Julia [Sheppard] Kutis.
Mr. Kutis was in the first class to graduate from Bishop Duffy and served in the US Army during the Korean War.
After returning from the service, he became a firefighter with the Niagara Falls Fire Department for the next 38 years, retiring as a Captain in 1994.
He enjoyed traveling, spending time at his camp and farm.
Mr. Kutis is survived by his wife of 67 years Deanna L. [Spencer] Kutis, three sons Gary (Wendy Furmanek), David (Janice) and Eric (Erika) Kutis, two sisters Dorothy Schimpff and Marilyn Clark, also eleven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gerald Kutis.
His family will be present on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18th at 10:00 AM.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Parkinson Foundation or Niagara Hospice.
