Alexandra "Sandy" Fowle

On Tuesday, December 21, 2021, Alexandra (Lopacki) Fowle, age 78, proud mother of two, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, New York. She is the daughter of the late Sigismund and Helen (Wrotniak) Lopacki. 

Alexandra was born in 1943, the youngest of four children. She was raised in the Polish-American community of Niagara Falls, and spent many of her childhood summers in Holloway Bay, Ontario. 

Sandy (or "Sasia" in Polish) attended high-school at Stella Niagara, where she took her novice vows soon after graduation. She eventually turned toward the idea of raising a family instead of receiving full ordination, however, she devotedly maintained her relationship with the sisters of Stella Niagara.

Sandy graduated from Niagara University in 1968 with a BA in History Education, after which she taught social studies at LaSalle Junior High School before starting her family. Her later vocational pursuits included working in real estate and ultimately social service positions with Rivershore, Inc and Niagara Hospice. 

Sandy raised her children in Lewiston, NY. She was a loving mother who was always clear about the unconditional nature of her love for her children.

Sandy was involved in many activities including being an active member of the Echo Society (Club), St. Teresa's Social Club, Stella Niagara Alumni Association, and a volunteer with St. Vincent. She enjoyed socializing with family and friends, playing cards, reading, and bringing a smile to another's face in anyway that she could.

 Sandy had a delightful  sense of humor and loved poking fun at the amusing nature of everyday life. She was kind and thoughtful, generously offering whatever she could to those in need. She passed on that same great sense of kindness and caring through her words and actions to all those with whom she came in contact.

Sandy is survived by her two children, Christine Fowle and Amy King.

Alexandra is predeceased by her sisters, Barbara Keller, Helen Plato; and her brother, Sigismund "Buzzy" Lopacki.
