Ann H. Maerten

Of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the loving care of Niagara Hospice House. She was born on  August 26, 1936, to the late Wallace and Mary [Monkelbaan] Moje.

Ann was a graduate of Lockport High School, Class of 1954. On September 24, 1955, she married Norman L. Maerten who passed away in August of 2022.

Ann served as chief bookkeeper for Maerten’s Motor Service. She was also a proud member of the Shawnee Ladies Auxiliary.

Ann found great joy in baking and spending time with her family. She was a strong and loving presence.

Ann is survived by her sister, Barbara (Jerome) Hobart; her sons, James (Suzanne) and Thomas; her grandsons, Kevin and Andrew (Alexis); her great-grandchildren, Aubrey Ann and Jacob; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings Rosemary Miller, Robert Moje, Alice Alexander, and Henrietta Moje.                                                                                                                                                                                             

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ann’s name to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company or Niagara Hospice.
