Anthony Rendina Obituary

Anthony J. Rendina, age 95, of Thousand Oaks, CA. formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away October 22, 2022, at Veterans Hospital, Los Angeles, California. He was born May 10, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Ralph and Anna (Talarico) Rendina. 

A Niagara Falls native he attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara University. During World War II, he served as a Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division US Army and was honorably discharged. On June 23, 1951, he married the late Eleanor Princevalle in St. Joseph Church. He owned and operated Princevalle Insurance Agency on Pine Avenue with his father-in-law and late wife. Prior to working in the insurance industry, he worked at Bell Aerospace as a project manager, later He worked as a carpenter on the Niagara Power Project.

Anthony was very civic minded and served on the Niagara Falls City Council City Councilman for 8yrs and Chairman of the Council for 2yrs. Was a very active member and Past President of the Pine Avenue Business Association (PABA), a member of Pine Avenue Revitalization Project, board member of the Niagara Beautification Commission, 4 th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Exchange Club, VFW, Cristoforo Colombo Society. Trustee for the Riverdale Cemetery, Long time parishioner of Saint Joseph Parish, Member of the Century Club, Niagara Builders Association, Boys and Girls Club, Niagara Council of the Arts, of the Lasalle Sportsman Club, Participated for years with the Festival of Lights, Member of the Chamber of Commerce, and the Small Business Council.

An aviation enthusiast, he enjoyed flying, was knowledgeable about many aircraft. In 2018 at the age of 91 he made a final parachute jump. As an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends at his cabin in the southern tier.

Anthony is survived by a son; Ralph (Deanna) Rendina of Thousand Oaks, CA. seven granddaughters;
Lisa (Richard Cimadoro) Rendina, Amy (Ian) Anderson and Jeanette (Jeremy) Lewis, Tiffany (Carlos) Bradberry, Sarah (Neal Siford) Cummings, Meggan Rendina, and Maria (James Majka) Rendina; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law; Robin Rendina of Niagara Falls, NY and his brother Leonard (Joyce) Rendina of North Tonawanda, NY and many cousins, nephews and nieces.

 He was predeceased by his wife, his son David Rendina, his sister Elizabeth Rendina and his grandson Matthew Cummings.

Family will be present on Monday December 5th , from 4-8PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME , 1124 Ontario Ave, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM at St. Raphael Church, 3840 Macklem Ave. Niagara Falls.

 Entombment with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY
