Bernard P. "Ben" Mullane of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 22, 1928, a son of the late Bernard and Lillian [Kraft] Mullane.
Mr. Mullane graduated from Niagara Falls High School and served with the US Navy in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Theaters during World War II .
He was a pipefitter with the Stauffer Chemical for 18 years and with Harrison Radiator for another 18 years before retiring in 1993.
Mr. Mullane attended the Buffalo Arts Academy and received a Yale Fellowship in Art to the Norfolk Summer School. He was a talented abstract and expressionism painter and volunteered his time at the Castellani Art Museum.
Mr. Mullane was a Charter Member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary E. [Quinn] Mullane, a son Sean Q. (Tammy) Mullane, two daughters Mary Elizabeth Spina and Pamela Sarvady, seven grandchildren Meghan, Joseph and Anthony Spina, Steve Van Volkinburg II, Jason Sellmann, James Sarvady, and Angeleah Mullane, a great grandson Joseph Spina and was the brother in law of Ruth Mullane, Patricia (late Joseph) Dooley, Annette (late James) Dooher and John Quinn, also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mullane was the father of the late Patrick John Mullane and brother of the late Richard Mullane.
His family will present on Friday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM in Alumni Chapel at Niagara University.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
