Brian A. O'Donnell of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at his residence, under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on February 19, 1942, a son of the late Patrick E. and Mary Agnes [Riordan] O'Donnell.
Brian attended St. Mary's Elementary, Bishop Duffy and Niagara University.
He served with the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.
Brian was the manager of Howard Johnson's on Main Street, before becoming the Director of the Department of Community and Human Relations with the City of Niagara Falls, the Coordinator of the 1992 Centennial Celebration for the City of Niagara Falls, the Director of Tourism and Promotion and Director of Personnel for the City of Niagara Falls and later as the Personnel Manager for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. He was a member and served as president of Rev. James J. Browne Niagara County AOH, Division One and was the Grand Marshall for 2017 St. Patrick's day parade, the St. Mary's Hospital Board of Associates, the Niagara Falls Lions Club, the Niagara Falls Zoning Board of Appeals, the City of Niagara Falls and the New York State Municipal Civil Service Commission, the Porta-Niagara Girls Club, the American Legion and was a Third Degree of the Knights of Columbus Council #247. He served as a board member with the United Way of Niagara, Inc., the Music School of Niagara and with the friends of the Niagara Falls Library.
Brian is is survived by his wife of 55 years Janice A. [Bedore] O'Donnell, his children Kathleen (Brian) LaRock, Jennifer (Frank, Jr.) Krause and Brian (Mary Alice) O'Donnell, II, his grandchildren Steven (Cierra), Trey, Kiernan and Abigail Krause, Liam and Fiona O'Donnell, a great grandson Sawyer Krause and was the brother of Patrick (Marilyn) and Cornelius (Anne) O'Donnell, Florence (Kevin) Brown, Christine (late Fred) Aydelotte, brother in law of Alicia O'Donnell and Arthur Paine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Brian was the brother of the late William O'Donnell and Mary Catherine Paine.
His family will be present on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY. Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY.

Interment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
