CAROLYN M. HENRY

Of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Northgate Health Care Facility.  A member of the White Bear Clan, she was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Joseph and Gladys [Gansworth] Woodbury.  

Mrs. Henry attended the Tuscarora Indian School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949.

She was a sales representative with Jenss Department Store for many years, also an AVON Lady and worked at Farnham's Store.

Mrs. Henry was a member of the Tuscarora Baptist Church, the Grand Lodge of the Iroquois Temperance League, the Tuscarora Temperance Society, a founding member of the Niagara Wheatfield Lacrosse Booster Program, 4-H, the Tuscarora Senior Citizens.

She was involved in the New Years Day Feast and the New York State 4-H square dance champions, along with many other activities.

Mrs. Henry enjoyed watching and traveling to her families sporting events.

She was the wife of 50 years to the late Francis R. Henry, who passed away in 2005.

Mrs. Henry is survived by her five sons  Raymond, Brian, Ronald " Mouser ", Robert " Bear " [ Joy ] and Dale Henry, her grandchildren Tiffany, Emily, Noah, Jacob (Kaitlyn), Cory (Stefanie) , Kyle, Whitney Ann and Lisa,  five great grandchildren Harley, Novalee, Atticus, Aria and Sterling, a sister Donna (late T. Charles) Tonemah and a sister in law Mary Woodbury,  also many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Joseph Woodbury.

Her family will be present on Saturday from 4-7 PM at  RHONEY FUNERAL HOME,  5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 PM at Tuscarora Baptist Church,2208 Mount Hope Road Sanborn, NY,  with Rev. Walter A. Printup,  officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name to the  Tuscarora Baptist Church.

Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery Lewiston, NY
