Mrs. Werth moved to Niagara Falls in the 1940's. She was one one of the few remaining Rosie
the Riveters that were employed during World War II at Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield and plants in
Kentucky and California. She returned to Sanborn in 1956, where she worked at Niagara Searchlight
and at Sandy's Coffee Shop for many years. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church
and several senior citizens groups in the area. Mrs. Werth enjoyed spending time with her family,
gardening and doing all types of needlepoint.
She was the wife of the late Claude Werth and the late Clifford London.
Mrs. Werth is survived by three daughters, Beth Madison, Sally (Leslie) Jones and Katherine
Carter, one son, Claude L. "Rusty" Werth, a son in law Richard Laufer, ten grandchildren, many
great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Christine Laufer and sister of the late Carroll Schaar, Dorothy
Lampman and Sarah Dussinger.
Her family will be present on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME,
5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM,
with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hope United Methodist Church.
Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
