Daniel C. Szczygiel

Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, in Northgate Health Care Facility.
He was born in Buffalo, NY on July 25, 1954 , the son of the late Casimir "Casey" and Theresa S. [Lampka]  Szczygiel.

Dan graduated from Starpoint in 1973 and was still actively involved in the school's class reunions. When he was 11 years old, he started working in his family's business Buffalo Gear in Sanborn. He eventually became the co-owner and operator of the company.  He was a former member of the Sanborn Fire Company and a long time member of the Machine Shop Association of WNY.
Dan loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife  and one of their favorite spots was Key West. Dan was an avid car guy.

Dan was the husband of 41 years to  the late  Deborah M. [Sardella] Szczygiel, who passed away on March of 2017.
He is survived by his daughters Cassandra (Jay) Hurtgam and Amanda (Justin) Clough, three grandchildren Emma, Justin and Allison, two sisters Gail (Walter) Nichols and Cynthia (James)  Tighe, a nephew Riley Tighe and many friends.

His family will be present on Saturday from 1-4:30 PM  at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, with Funeral Services to follow at 4:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.
