David H. Brown

Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 in Strong Memorial Hospital, after being involved in a car accident.  He was born in Newfane, NY, on May 28, 1942, a son of the late Elwood and Olive [Aderman] Brown.

Mr. Brown was a graduate of Newfane High School in 1960 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts and Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Buffalo.  He was a math professor at SUNY Niagara from 1967 until retiring in 2000 and continued to tutor math until 2025.

Mr. Brown was actively involved and was a Sunday School teacher at Colonial Heights Free Methodist Church for many years.  He also helped run a prayer table at the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission and prayed daily for relatives, friends, pastors and ministries.

He wrote several mystery novels and math books over the years.

Mr. Brown will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great friend.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Kay [Hamilton] Brown, his children Marlo Brown, Krista (George) McCoy, Dawn (Timothy) O'Brien and Darren (Evie) Brown, four grandchildren Shiloh, Kenny, Katie Beth and Isaac David, a brother William (Rosie) Brown, his aunt Carol Berridge, also many nieces and nephews.

His family will be present on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Heights Free Methodist Church, 1310 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, NY.

Flowers are gratefully declined,  Memorials may be made in his name to Camp Hickory Hill or to St. Jude Hospital.

Interment in Corwin Cemetery, Newfane, NY.
