DOLORES J. MOWREY


Of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 27, 1933, a daughter of the late Raymond and Frances [Mante] Licht.

Mrs. Mowrey graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1951.

She was a stay at home mom, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Mowrey crocheted lap robes for Niagara Hospice for many years.
She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Mowrey is survived by her husband of 69 years, James E. Mowrey, her daughter Debbie [ Michael ] Hechler, two grandchildren Christopher and Anna (Clayton) Hess, three great grandchildren Savannah, Avery and Clayton, Jr., a sister Olive Pike, also many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Patrick D. and James W. Mowrey, sister of the late Floyd, Edward Licht and Myrtle Tracy.

Her family will be present  on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at THE RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY,  where funeral  services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM , with the Rev. Meghan James officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name  to St. Martin's Lutheran Church.

Interment at White Chapel Amherst, NY.
