Donald C. "Jose" Rickard

Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in the Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY.  As a member of  the  Beaver Clan of the Tuscarora Indian Nation, he was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on August 3, 1951, a son of the late Kenneth and Margaret [Williams] Rickard.

Mr. Rickard served three tours of duty with the US Marine Corp in Vietnam.

He was employed as a roofer before becoming a sales associate in the window and door department at Home Depot.  In his retirement, he also drove for Advanced Auto.

Mr. Rickard was an avid hunter.

He was the husband of the late Janet Rickard.

Mr. Rickard is survived by his dear companion of 34 years Lynn McNiff, three sons Richard and Marcus Rickard, Matthew and Timothy McNiff, five grandchildren Cheyenne, Kaiden, Dylan, Mason, Madden and Malani, three great grandchildren Christopher, Joseph and Lilianne, a brother Arnold Rickard, Sr., a sister Rosemary (Gordon) Hill, his former wife, Helene Roy, also many nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Christy and Christopher Rickard and brother of the late Kenneth and Keith Rickard.

His family will be present on Saturday from 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Tuscarora Indian Mission, 5035  Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY 14132.

Interment with military honors in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
