DOUGLAS W. JONES, SR.

Of Sanborn, NY passed away March 26, 2024. He was born February 8, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, son of the late Omar and Winifred (VanGorder) Jones.

Mr. Jones served in the US ARMY where he received a Purple Heart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He liked spending time with his nephew David "Butch" Parry.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Peggy A. (Friermuth) Jones,  son Douglas W. (Sue) Jones, Jr. and Michele Jones, grandchildren Samantha (Mike)Boudreau, Beth Jones, Tristan (Meghan) Payne, Matthew Wollaber, Shawn Wollaber and Sara Wollaber, great-grandchildren Keeley Roessler and Abby Payne, one sister Sally Jones. 

He was the brother of the late Al Jones, Omar "Bub" Jones Lilian Henry , Gladys Bennion, Gloria Ridley and Dora Parry.

Visitation on FRIDAY 2-4 & 7-9PM at RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Rd., SANBORN, NY, where services will be held SATURDAY at 10:00AM.

Interment with Military Honors in Wheatfield Cemetery.
