Dr. Scott F. McKay, of the Village of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 22, 1946, the son of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Howard) McKay.
Together with his wife, Nancy M. (Monteleone) McKay, Dr. McKay owned and operated Lewiston Chiropractic from 1981 to 2016. He was widely respected for his deep research into health, wellness, and spirituality. In 1991, he founded Advance Chiropractic, where his twin sons, Dr. Douglas F. Monteleone and Dr. Donald P. Monteleone, continue to practice alongside Dr. McKay’s grandson, Dr. Ryan Monteleone.
Dr. McKay, a Vietnam veteran, was an easy going, loving, empowering patriarch of his family. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, pickleball, and was a lifelong inventor/tinkerer. He served Western New York as the first pickleball ambassador.
Dr. McKay is survived by his wife Nancy M. (Monteleone) McKay, his sons Dr. Douglas F. (Rosanna) Monteleone and Dr. Donald P. (Jaew) Monteleone, grandchildren Tiegan Monteleone, Dr. Ryan Monteleone, Collin Monteleone, Logan Monteleone and Angelo Monteleone as well as his nephew Randy Ferguson and many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings Constance MacKay, Bobette Bensen, Shirley Venturin, Drusilla Utter, and his grandson Mason Monteleone.
A Visitation and Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 31, from 1 PM to 3 PM at Advance Chiropractic, 820 Main Street, Niagara Falls NY for family. Friends and former patients are welcome to stop in and pay their respects.
