of Burt, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Ed was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on October 10, 1961, the son of the late Vasil W. and Mary Anna (Mamon) Luzak.
He was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School and Niagara County Community College, where he earned a degree in Horticulture. After working with several local businesses, Ed followed his passion for growing things and founded Luzak’s Farm. Ed sold his fresh produce at the North Tonawanda City Market, where he became a familiar and beloved face. He was known not only for his hard work, but for his friendly nature and warm conversations. Many would say he had the sweetest corn in the region — a point Ed likely accepted with a smile and a laugh.
An avid outdoorsman, Ed loved hunting and fishing and was happiest when he was outside. He and his wife enjoyed camping together, making memories under open skies. Above all, Ed cherished time spent at home surrounded by friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and a big, booming laugh that made people feel welcome and at ease. Those who knew him will remember his easygoing spirit, his kindness, and the joy he brought to everyday moments.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Catherine (Kitcho) Luzak; his sons, Robert (Amanda) and Gary Licht; and his cherished grandchildren, Daisy, Hunter, and Deliah. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Ann (late Robert) Daughterty, Thomas (Bonita) Luzak, and William (Marianne) Luzak, along with many nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his brother, David Luzak.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:30PM at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, NY, with funeral services beginning at 530PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s name to Make-A-Wish.
