Elizabeth "Betty" L. Derion

Elizabeth L. "Betty"  Derion of Grand Island, FL, passed away on  Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Mt. Dora, FL.   She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 30, 1935, a daughter of the late Raymond and Frances [O'Connor] Nassoiy.

Mrs. Derion was a supervisor with AT&T in Buffalo for over 35 years, before  retiring in 1984.   After her retirement, she and her husband Edward,  moved to Grand Island, FL.

They enjoyed traveling together around the Caribbean and also visited most of the European and Asiatic countries on cruises, taking more than 70.   She enjoyed  bridge, was a voracious reader and belonged to the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578.

Mrs. Derion was the wife of 35 years to the late Edward L. Derion, who passed away in February of 2016.  She is survived by a sister Mary T. (late David R.)  Lostracco, nephews David R. (Jeanne) Lostracco and Carl (Diane) Simon, nieces Margret A. Nawrocki, Jean (late Wade) Douville and Cheryl (Ronald) Hedrick, two step daughters, Toniann Derion and   Amy (Elton) Barnard, a step son in law  Scott Wiesel, also several grand nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Derion was the sister of the late Marjorie (late Ellsworth) Simon, a late step daughter  Lisa-Marie Wiesel.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 9:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.

Inurnment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
