Ellen M. Scavulli

Of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025, in Buffalo General Hospital.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on October 3, 1926, a daughter of the late John and Mary [Roger] Sweeney.

Mrs. Scavulli graduated from Sacred School and Niagara Falls High School.

She was the secretary at Sacred Heart Church for over 30 years before retiring. Mrs. Scavulli was a very active member of Sacred Heart Church over the years.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and her walks around Goat Island.

Mrs. Scavulli was proud of her Irish heritage and was well known for her soda bread.

She was the wife of the late Angelo Scavulli and Benedict Moraca.

Mrs. Scavulli is survived by her children Theresa (late Steve) Brockman, Louise Scalzo, Peter (Denise) Moraca, Kathleen Ligammari, Mary (Rob) Grant, three grandchildren  Angela (Michael) Calarco, Sam Scalzo and  Emily Grant, two great grandchildren Oliver Calarco and Bellamy Hocking, also many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Margaret, John F. (late Mary) and James Sweeney.

Her  family will be present Sunday, February 9th from 12-4 PM at  the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  Everyone is invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial  on Monday, February 10th at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, St. Joseph Site, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with the Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name to Love, Heart and Soul.

Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
