Gennie C. Blackwell Kuhns

Of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY,  on July 27, 1976, the daughter of Louann [Jonathan] Blackwell and the late Leslie Blackwell, Sr.

Gennie was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and became a home health care aide with various agencies in the area.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed camping and going mudding.

Gennie was an active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in North Tonawanda.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband John Kuhns, children Seth Blackwell, Seth and Seleste Bomberry, two grandchildren Shiy'ella and Winter, siblings Michele (Nelson) Mt. Pleasant, Amanda Blackwell  and Gary Chew, also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gennie was the sister of the late Leslie Blackwell, Jr.

Her family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM the Tuscarora Baptist Church, 2088 Mt. Hope Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Walter A. Printup, Jr. and Pastor David Constantino officiating.

Internment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
