Gerald “Gerry” F. Armagost
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Gerald "Gerry" F. Armagost, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and decorated Air Force veteran, on January 19, 2024, at the age of 73.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Paula Armagost and their children, Tricia (Eddie) Lukaszek, Jessica Bauer, Anna (Javier) Martinez, his 9 grandchildren, Megan, Isiah, Paul, Anthony, Arabelle, Jennavecia, Aurora, Silvio, and Rafael. Gerry is predeceased by his son Gered Armagost and daughter Amy Armagost, whose memories remain a cherished part of his story.
He was born on June 11th, 1950, in Dubois, PA, to Fred and Barbara [Streeter] Armagost. As the 2nd eldest of 10 siblings, he learned the true value of family. He graduated from LewPort High School in 1968 and joined the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country with integrity, dedication and strength.
Gerry's passion for carpentry and woodworking was more than a hobby; it was an extension of his character. Each piece he created was a testament to his attention to detail and craftsmanship.
He found solace and joy in the hymn "Amazing Grace." The words "how sweet the sound" were a reflection of his approach to life by embracing challenges with grace and finding joy in life's simplest moments.
Gerry will be remembered as a hero, role model and devoted family man. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
His family welcomes friends and loved ones to join in honoring and celebrating Gerry's life at a graveside service with Military Honors on Wednesday 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mount View Cemetery, 3077 Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn, NY.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this time.
