Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on June 14, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 24, 1934, son of the late Walter and Frances (Ferchen) Wienke.
Mr. Wienke was a charter member at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. He was a classroom volunteer at Colonial Village, co-founder and treasurer of the Sanborn Farm Museum, member of the Sanborn Business and Professional Association and a basket weaving instructor at the NW Adult Instruction Program.
A lifetime fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Buffalo Bills and spent many years beautifying the flower beds of Sanborn. He also enjoyed organizing the community events.
Mr. Wienke was the husband of 62 years to the late Marie D. (Strehlow) Wienke, who passed away August 13, 2018.
He is survived by his three daughters Karen (Bryan) Richardson, Kathy (Rob Sobczyk) Richardson and Kris (Rick) Schrader, six grandchildren Craig (Ashley) Richardson, Julie (Kyle) Stevener, Michelle (Lance) Rolston, Kimberly Richardson, Brittany (Christian) Nole and Brandon (Jessica) Schrader, ten great-grandchildren with another on the way.
His family will be present on THURSDAY from 3-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. His Memorial service will be held on Friday at 10:30AM at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 1534 Ruie Road, North Tonawanda, NY.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and the Sanborn Area Historical Society, PO Box 172 Sanborn, NY 14132.
Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
