Jack L. Doherty

Jack L. Doherty of Lewiston, NY, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence.  He  was born in Queens, NY on May 7, 1934, a son of the late William and Gladys [Worden] Doherty.

Mr. Doherty was truck driver with Ferrara Trucking and Palmeiri Trucking in Brooklyn before becoming  a member of the Teamsters as a tractor trailer driver  with DL & D Trucking in Queens for over 18 years.

Mr Doherty moved to Lewiston in 2001 and enjoyed helping his friends with car repairs and going to the Casino.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dorothy L. (Klonowski) Doherty, his children Dorothy (Patrick) Neville, Jack (Chris McDonald) Doherty and Lorraine (Richard Gudat) O'Shaughnessy, a  daughter in law Patty, three grandchildren Kerri O'Shaughnessy, Sarah (Brian) Brazeau and Stephanie Neville, a sister Joanne (late Michael) Lopez, also many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Doherty was the brother of the late Eileen Mitchell, William (Rose Marie) Doherty and brother in law of the late Joseph (Ruby) Klonowski.

His family will be present on Wednesday from  5-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial  on Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.
