Janet A. Domzella

Of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice.  She was born in Marquette, MI, on March 22, 1935, the daughter of Jack and Alice [Blom] Messenger.

Mrs. Domzella came to the Niagara Falls area in 1970, and received her Master's degree from the University of Buffalo.  She was the director of the Lewiston Library from 1977 until her retirement in 2001.   After retiring she became the manager of the LaSalle branch of the Niagara Falls Public Library for several years.

Mrs. Domzella was a member of the Mayflower Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and an active member of the Upper Mountain Fire Company.

She enjoyed painting in watercolors and playing the piano.

Mrs. Domzella was the wife of 36 years to the late Perry L. Domzella, who passed away in October of 2013.  She is survived by her children Joseph (Nam Thi Tran) Wodzinski, Daniel Wodzinski, Perry (Cairine) Domzella, and Pamela Domzella, a daughter in law Patty Halloran, grandchildren Anastasia, Anthony, Samuel, Eliza, Angelo, Michael, Nicholas and Emily, granddaughter in law Michelle, and a great-grandson; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Domzella was the mother of the late Christopher Wodzinski, and grandmother of the late Frank Le.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Chapel, 5180 Chew Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Peter M. Calabrese, CRSP, officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to the Lewiston Library.
