In Loving Memory of Janet Louise Green

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and friend, Janet, who left this world on April 15, 2025 surrounded by her family.   Janet was born in England, on February 26, 1969, the daughter of Walter F. and the late Candace [Bennett] Kotzur.

She was the heart of our family — a constant source of warmth, comfort, and unwavering support. Her compassion knew no bounds, her laughter lit up every room, and her love was a quiet, steady force that shaped all who were lucky enough to know her.  She had a gift for making people feel seen and safe, and her kindness was calming to many. Whether it was a listening ear, a warm meal, or a handmade quilt, she gave of herself completely and without hesitation. Her home was a haven — filled with the scent of fresh coffee, stacks of well-loved books, the soft pitter-patter of paws, and the kind of peace that only comes from being truly loved.

Janet taught us strength not with words, but with her quiet perseverance. She met life’s challenges with grace and grit, and she showed us what it means to keep going — not because it was easy, but because love made it worth it.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband Steven, three children Jacqueline (Roy) Reeves, Rebecca and James (Emily) Green, four grandchildren, Liam, Max, Jackson and Carter and her brother Eric, each of whom carry her spirit in the way they love, care, and show up for one another.

We are heartbroken, but we are also so grateful — for the years we had with her, the memories that will never fade, and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

Janet’s family will be present on Monday, April 28th from 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY.

A private celebration of life service will be held at the wishes of her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to Roswell Park and/or Oishei Children’s Hospital as either toys for kids battling cancer or monetary.
