Jeffrey D. Schuster
Lovingly known as Jeff/Dad/Crabpa
Jeffrey D. “Jeff” Schuster, of Lewiston, NY, passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday, December 19, 2025. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, and humble man whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew him.
Born on June 3, 1951, in West Chester, PA, Jeff was the beloved son of the late Charles and Lulu May (Hammill) Schuster. In 1984, he made Lewiston his home, where he built a life rooted in family, faith, and community. Jeff enjoyed a long career in retail management, serving as a store manager for K-Mart and later Dollar Tree in Niagara Falls, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and steady leadership.
Jeff was deeply involved in his community and found great joy in sailing, music, and service. He was a proud member of the Tuscarora Yacht Club, where he served as Commodore among other positions. You could find him there often during the season tinkering on his boat or sailing. He would sail his boat often just by himself. Jeff shared his love of singing as a member of the Lewiston Choraleers and was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston where he sang in the church choir. You could also see him volunteering often at Artpark as an usher listening to the variety of music they offered during the years.
Above all else, Jeff cherished his family. He is survived by his children, Garrick Schuster; Jeremy (Summer) Coutts; Jennifer (David) Sansonetti; and Marisa Schuster; his sisters Lavonne (Thomas) Schuster Bartholomay and Elaine Issacs, his dear friend, Carolyn Tripi. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Zackary, Emilly, Abigail, Sebastian, Roman, AJ, Samantha, Kasie, Madison, Hannah, Harrison and Jackson, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry his love with them.
In addition to his parents, Jeff was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Richard Schuster.
Private funeral services will be held at the wishes of the family. A celebration of life will be held in the summer time for all family and friends. The family will be sure to keep all informed. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston.
Arrangements were entrusted to Rhoney Funeral Home, Lewiston, NY. Condolences may be shared by visiting www.rhoneyfuneralhome.com, for guest register.
