Of Lewiston, NY, entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Elderwood at Lockport surrounded by her family. 
She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Joseph and Gerlanda [Camilleri] Loicono.

Mrs. Ankenbauer was a graduate of LaSalle High School. She was employed as a control clerk at Sears, Nimelman's Baby Shop,with Carborundum in Building 91, before becoming a receptionist at SKW Alloy for 11 years, retiring in 1991.

Mrs. Ankenbauer was a member of the Youngstown Presbyterian Church and the Lewiston Seniors.
She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed bowling, doing crafts, gardening, playing BINGO, cards and listening to music.

Mrs. Ankenbauer was the wife of 59 years the late William D. Ankenbauer, who passed away in March of 2007, they were married on February 28, 1948.

She is survived by her children,  William  D. [ Roberta ] Ankenbauer, Jr.,  Deborah J. Wolf and  David B.  Ankenbauer, grandchildren; Tina, William III, Kimberly, Brian, Melissa, Ryan and Matthew, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and the "Zappy kids".

She was the mother of the late Cynthia  Krell, mother-in- law of the late Richard Wolf, grandmother of the late Shawn Wolf and sister of the late Rose (Edward) Stricker and Angeline (Jim) Cowan.

Her  family will be present on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM, with the Rev. Robert Hagel officiating.

Memorials may be made in her name to Upper Mountain Fire Company or to Niagara Hospice.
