Joann Elizabeth (Walsh) Reedy

Died peacefully in her sleep at age 98 on November 8, 2025, with her family. She was born at home in Kewanna, Indiana to her loving parents, Kerry and Margaret Walsh. She attended Indiana State College, where she was a member of Psi Theta Sorority and of Alpha Iota Business Sorority.

Joann worked as a secretary to the vice-president at Notre Dame and for the Diamond & Miller law firm in South Bend.

She was married to Dr. John J. Reedy on January 19, 1952, at Sacred Heart Church of Notre Dame, he passed away in November of 1997.

Joann graduated from Niagara University in 1978.

Joann was a devout member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, had been an officer in the American Association of University Women, a member of Femmes en Force, and Home Bureau. She was a life member of the Lewiston Library, a member of several bridge clubs, a volunteer for literacy and voting polls. She was an outstanding seamstress.

She is survived by her children and their families Kerry (Adele), Susan (Mary Kaye), Mary, and Timothy (Laura), her 5 grandchildren Christopher, Janine, Christine, Jaqueline and Nicole, her great-grandchildren Gabriel, Lillian, Liam, Henry, Reed, Baker, Parks and Summerlin.

Visitation on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 2- 5 PM at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 901 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY.  Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 22, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's  R. C. Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY.

Interment in Oakland Rural Cemetery.
