Of Niagara Falls NY, passed away Monday, February 16, 2026, in Schoellkopf Health Center.
He was born in Sykesville, PA on January 11, 1928, a son of the late John S. and Anne (Dolak) Pitonyak, Sr.
Mr. Pitonyak moved to Niagara Falls with his family as a child and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.
He served with the US Army during the Korean War.
After returning from the service, he began working as a pressman with Moore Business Forms for over 30 years before starting his own business E M Business Forms and Niagara Falls Business Forms and later became the maintenance supervisor with Cerebral Palsy and then Empower, until retiring at the age of 90.
He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.
One of the highlights of his life, was taking a trip to Korea with his sons.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling, air shows, watching golf, the Buffalo Bills and cutting grass.
Mr. Pitonyak will be remembered for his two life sayings "A man's only as good as his word" and "A man's name means everything".
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Angela (Ortner) Pitonyak, his son John A. (Michelle) Pitonyak, also many adoring, admiring and loved nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pitonyak was the father of the late Michael A. Pitonyak and brother of the late Dorothy (Edwin) Podsiadlo, Barbara (Mike) Trubisky, Marge (Fred) Forrester and Mary (Leo) Nowak.
His family will be present on Friday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM.
Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.
