Joseph Edward Moran, Jr. of Wilson, NY, passed away on October 20, 2020, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on October 15, 1940, the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude [Ward] Moran, Sr.
Joe attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Bishop Duffy and Niagara University. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Joe was a history teacher at South Junior, Trott Vocational and LaSalle Senior High School in Niagara Falls,before retirement. He was Past President and active member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, now St. Brendan on the Lake in Wilson. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, playing basketball and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda [Candido] Moran, his children Michael (Willow) Moran, Liz (Dan) Bagwell and Kate (Jim) Madan, a daughter in law Hope Moran, eleven grandchildren Jonny, Brianna, Alex, Nathan, Joe 4, Claire, Molly, Eliott, James, Lucy and Tessa, three brothers Pat (Mimi), Dan (Ruth) and Tim (Kathy) Moran, a sister Mary (Jack) Semler and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was the father of the late Joseph E. Moran, III and brother of the late Captain Michael Moran
His family will be present on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Brendan on the Lake, 345 Lake Street, Wilson, NY, with the Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating, followed by military honors.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
