Judith Miller Obituary

JUDITH ANN MILLER

Of Sanborn, NY,  passed away peacefully on Monday, December 26, 2022, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport NY.  Judy was born in New Waterford, Ohio,  on March 4, 1939, the daughter of the late Enos Moses and Pauline [Hisey] Harrold.

She was the youngest of five sisters. Judy grew up in a small town in Ohio and went on to graduate from Bowling Green University with a teaching degree.   She started her teaching career in Westchester, NY.  In 1962 she moved to Niagara Falls where she was a homemaker and raised her family. Judy also worked at Great Lakes Carbon before returning to teaching at Niagara Street School in Niagara Falls, until her retirement.

Judy’s faith was an important part of her life and she was very active in her church.  As a care giver,  she volunteered her time at
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, her church, and after school programs.

“Grandma J” was her grandchildren’s biggest fan! From sports, to jobs, driving lessons and extracurricular activities, she was their number one supporter.

Judy was an avid world traveler, animal caretaker, supporter of the Buffalo Bills, and had a flair for fashion. She was a member of several
clubs with her friends, including card club, book club, and the Red Hats Club.  One of her favorite memories was Mother’s Day Brunch at the Pillar & Post Restaurant in Niagara on The Lake.

Judith is survived by her children, Holly (John) Skrzypek, Scott (Christine) Miller, and Christen (David) Mason, and seven grandchildren, Ryan (Brittany) Miller, Summer (Daniel) Kachin, Taylor Miller, Gabby Miller, Griffin Skrzypek, Sarah Miller, and Zachary Mason.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Cheryl (Dennis) Drexler.

Judy was the sister of the late Jane, Virginia, Mary, and Dorothy.

Her family will be present on Sunday from 2-6:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Matthew Kofahl officiating.

Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice or Niagara County SPCA.
