Lee Allen Taylor,80, of Niagara Falls passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on October 9, 2024 at the Niagara Hospice House. He was born May 20,1944 in Meridian, Mississippi and was the son of the late Ernest and Eliza (Jimerson) Taylor.
Lee came to Niagara Falls as a young boy and attended local schools; graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1962.
He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1963 and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1967. After returning to Niagara Falls, he was employed by Union Carbide and the Niagara Falls Board of Education/BOCES before retiring.
Lee was a lifelong learner and he earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1975 from Niagara County Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1978 from University at Buffalo. In his twilight years, in order to gain a better understanding of the Bible and deepen his relationship with the Lord, Lee pursued graduate studies at Jacksonville Theological Seminary, graduating with a Masters, and finally a Doctorate of Ministry in 2014.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid car enthusiast. He was a member of the OG Cruisers of Niagara Falls New York.
He is survived by his daughter LaTonya L. Mitravich and his granddaughter Gabriella G. Mitravich. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy “Dot” Curry, and his closest friends, James “Bo” Iveys and Ernest “Pat” Robinson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, from 11-12PM at Disciples of Christ Church, 4001 McKoon Ave Niagara Falls, NY, where services follow at 12PM.
Interment with Military Honors in Oakwood Cemetery.
