Of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She was born in Akron, OH, on May 12, 1954, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Hazel D. [Hilgert] Cunningham.
After attending Rosary Hill College and receiving her Master's Degree from Canisius College in Deaf Education, she began her career as an elementary school teacher at St. Mary's School for the Deaf in Buffalo, NY.
Leslie was a lifelong animal lover, especially horses and dogs. After retiring, she remained active, volunteering with several local dog rescues.
She is survived by her daughter Megan (Matthew) Cole, a grandson Miles, her niece Jamie (Joey) Kopera Boling, and her nephew Nick Kopera.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Coughlin.
Her family will be present on Friday from 3:30-6:30 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, followed by funeral services at 6:30 PM.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Niagara County SPCA.
